10 years of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' is a Bollywood
movie directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under
Excel Entertainment. This film was 1st released on 15 July, 2011.
The film was started
with Hrithik Roshan(Arjun), Abhay Deol(Kabir), Farhan Akhtar(Imran)
in lead roles and Katrina Kaif(Laila), Kalki Koechlin(Natasha), Deepti Naval
and Naseerudin Shah played supporting roles.
Most part of the movie was
filmed in Spain, Barcelona, Pamplona, Buñol and Andalusia
and partly Egypt, India and the United Kingdom.
The film’s music was composed
by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy and the lyrics were written by Javed Akhtar.
Even, we heard Javed Akhtar’s mesmerizing poems in the film.
The plot of this movie was
based on three school buddies named Arjun, Kabir and Imran who arranged a three
weeks’ road trip.
The story started with Kabir
and his fiancé Natasha who were engaged. Before their marriage, Kabir wanted to
arrange a bachelor trip in Spain. He tried to convince his other two friends to
join him. Finally, they were convinced and separately went to Barcelona and
reunited after so many years.
Then they were planning to
visit Costa Brava, Seville, and Pamplona. On the way of the journey was so
adventurous. And I think, it is the best part of this film.
In this trip, workaholic and
rigid Arjun meets Laila, a girl with full of spirit. After knowing each other
closely, they fell in love and enjoyed life together. At the end of the film
everyone attended their marriage ceremony. As well as, Imran had found his
biological father and Kabir shared to Natasha about his honest thought of his
marriage which was shown towards the end.
The most interesting part of
the trip was they tried to face their fears. So, they joined some adventurous
sports and overcome all their fears hands in hand, unitedly.
After participating those
events, they valued their life’s with a different perspective. They did
whatever they should actually done with their life’s.
The entire movie was so
colorful and fresh. Cinematographer Carlos Catalan deserves a special thanks for
this. Every frame was filmed perfectly. Audiences felt engaged with some
beautifully captured specially in deep sea diving, sky diving and running with
the Spanish bull sequences.
In 2011, the film had a
worldwide released in 1,800 screens and got a huge response from film critics
as well as audiences. It was also commercially successful and critically
acclaimed for its script, music, comedy, direction and performances. Making
budget of the film was 600 million rupees and box office gross collection was
1.53 billion rupees.
‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’
won several awards including two National Film Awards.
I liked the moral theme of
the film, live life to the fullest, because it’s happens just once. I think, if
anyone has different vision about life. They must enjoy the special road trip
with soulful music too.
On 15th July, 2021 Zindagi Na
Milegi Dobara celebrated its tenth anniversary. On the occasion, the film’s
cast and crews reunited with a video conference on zoom and shared their
special experiences related with the film. The session was hosted by stand-up
comedian Vir Das. He asked many questions to the film’s teams including that
why they felt Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was special for them?
