Sweater Movie Review

 

Last night I watched the Bangla movie named Sweater. This family drama film was directed by Shieladitya Moulik and produced by PSS Entertainments, P&P Entertainment and Pramod Films. This film was released on 29 March 2019.

After released the music album I loved to listen those songs a lot. Most of the songs of the album got huge popularity among Bangle songs lovers. I mostly like both the songs ‘Preme Pora Baron’ and ‘Adure Din’ very much. Often I listen those songs when I felt little bored and get instant relaxed. Anindya Chattopadhyay and Ranajoy Bhattacharjee were the music directors of this movie.

This film’s story is based on a simple bangle girl Tuku who has no qualities as a Bangle marriage material label girl’s expect to have. For this reason, her poor parents couldn’t find suite groom for her and felling tensed always. They lived in an unknown small hill track. Where Tuku’s father working on a post office manager and her mother is a simple house wife.

Tuku has a boyfriend Pablo who is a rock star. He doesn’t will to committee with this relationship yet. He thought that marriage creates problems and grabs individual’s liberty. Pablo also confident about Tuku that she has nothings no quality and looks. So, he takes Tuku to taken for granted.

Tuku has a sweet bubble sister ‘Sree’ who is totally opposite from her. Sree is the proud daughter of her parent, because she is so beautiful, smart and talented. She also very well in singing and cooking.  So, it’s quit natural that Sree has often getting marriage proposals from well stablished family.     

On the contrary, Tuku was rejected from several marriage proposals because of her simple and average looks. As well as she has no quality to singing, cooking or others which people find so crucial for a girl’s marriage. Often people came to see Tuku but after watched Sree they proposed Sree for marriage.

But, Sree also has an ongoing relationship with a boy called Akash. Their relationship it totally depends on given take relationship. Sree regularly gets gifts from Akash and refused to express her interest about this relationship so that he could chase her.    

Since the childhood Tuku has been faced those types of avoidance in her family. Her parents and friends always have been poked her that she doesn’t have any quality of looks. For that reason, her parents have also feel pressure for daughters’ marriage. Anyhow they just want to find a suit family for Tuku’s marriage.  

One day, a well stablished Chartered Accounted son’s family comes to see Tuku from Kolkata. After met Tuku, son’s mother keeps an unusual condition on the table that is Tuku will have to be skilled in Kiting with just in one month. And she should have learnt it as like she will make a Sweater as like her would-be mother-in-law made before.

Later one-month meeting If son’s mother realized that Tuku is enough skillful in wool kiting. Then they will be getting ready for the marriage. Without this condition the family have no issues about this marriage.

After listening all Tuku’s parents doesn’t want to miss the opportunity of Tuku’s marriage. They decided to visit Darjeeling where Tuku’s aunt is living as she is also a well guide of wool kiting. Even she has taken classes to teach students wool kiting.

 When Tuku and her family reached her aunt house. She refused to teach kiting to Tuku. Because she thought it doesn’t a right way for learning any skill whatever the skill is. At the end moment, Tuku spoke out and convinced her aunt. She told that she wants to learn it only for herself. Because she always heard from other’s that she has no quality. She will have tried her level best to learn the art and proved others wrong.

But this learning process is not easy going for her. Her aunt had used several technics to grow her organic interest about learning. So that she feels motivated from her inner core to learn this art. On the other side, Tuku find this learning process different from usual process. Thought, here everyone comes to learn wool kiting but side by side they also learning lessons of how to live life. Because learning both art and lessons of life are following the same way.    

In the art class she meets many peers who has different background story of sufferings. Despite that they all are manage to join the classes and getting another chances to live life happily.

Here, Tuku meets a special one who become the main reason of her entire transform. That is Shamyo, a violin player. Inspire of being a cancer patient he always be happy and lived life with fullest. His optimistic thought towards life inspired Tuku a lot. Suddenly, she realized the true meaning of life and also finds herself once again. With full of confidence Tuku become a new person.

While Tuku’s learning is completed and she returns to home. She seen her bubbly little sister had also changed a lot. Sree became as like old Tuku, a lonely and under confident girl. Tuku heard that Sree went through a heart break situation. Her loved one Akash invited to home for their marriage and refused to marry her as he realized that Sree had only used him for a give and take relationship.     

At the end of the movie, Tuku refused her marriage proposal while her would-be mother-in-law accept her as would-be daughter-in-law. And she also meets again Pablo and pays backs all the cutlets bills which he used to feed her for two years. Now, she is an independent person lived her life with her own terms.  

After watching this movie, I just want to recommended that if anyone have wish to see a women centric film then surely watch this movie without any regret. This film can show you how a neglected girl find herself without having any so called quality’s. With understanding the worth of simple things in life and the needs to be independent one, she transforms her persona entirely.

Ishaa Saha who plays the lead character of Tuku, Jun Malia, Farhaan Imroze and Sreelekha all doing justice with their characters as presenting a strong base character. Also the music album is full of melodious songs and the hill track scenes used there are remarkably great and beautiful.

I think, the main moral message of the film is, be yourself. Stepping out of your shell, doing things whatever you want to do and do it entirely for yourself, not for others. Having the courage to show self-respect. That’s the main things for which everyone should watch this movie.
